Fairness Doctrine voted out of existence!!

Yeah, the hits just keep on coming.

Enraged at the thought that their inferiors might actually have the audacity to voice their opinions on Congress' sleazy backroom dealing and ticked off beyond measure at the failure of their attempt to push amnesty for illegal aliens down the country's throat, a number of politicians vented about the sinister influence of talk radio and declared that they were interested in reviving an antique piece of claptrap known as the Fairness Doctrine.

This would involve foisting a whole slew of Leftist talk shows on the airwaves whether they got ratings or not, in an effort to shut down - and shut up - the new media.

Among the miscreants who voiced approval of this blatant attempt to defy the First Amendment were John Kerry, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi.

One time talk show host Mike Pence, now in Congress deserves major credit for nipping this in the bud. he quickly crafted a bill barring the FCC from imposing the Fairness Doctrine in the future...and the House voted in favor, 309-115.

CORRECTION: The Pence amendment does not kill off the Fairness Doctrine forever..just for the duration of this congress, since it was attached to a spending bill. He's working on legislation to make it permanent.
