Mumbai India Hit By Major Terrorist Attacks - 80 Dead

Mumbai India has been targeted in a score of coordinated terrorist attacks.

Gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons fire and grenades on two of the city's best known Luxury hotels, the Taj Mahal and the Oberoi. They also attacked the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station in southern Mumbai and Leopold's restaurant, a Mumbai landmark.

At least 80 people have been murdered so far and another 250 wounded, and a number of the gunmen are reportedly still holed up in at least one of the hotels and are holding hostages.

Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Bangalore have been hit by terrorist attacks c that have claimed more than 150 lives over the past six months. The Indian Mujahideen, a previously unknown Islamist terror group, has claimed responsibility for those assaults.

One of my local little birdies e-mailed me that it appears the attacks were well planned, with secondary ambushes set up to target police and rescue workers as they rushed to the scene - a standard tactic of those adherents of the Religion of Peace that go in for this sort of activity.

He also told me that according to the local media, foreigners, particularly Americans and Brits were especially targeted.

I'll have more on this as it develops.

I can’t believe what I am seeing on the television. My condolences to the families that were affected by these horrific crimes.

As I understand it, the terrorists were asking for those with British & American passports to step forward & separate themselves.
