Jeb Bush Trashes Sarah Palin

Ex-Florida Governor Jeb Bush apparently thinks Sarah Palin is stupid. He talks nicely about her charisma, but it's obvious that he's slamming her for, in his benighted opinion, not having the "depth of understanding of the complexity of life we're living in today".

The fun starts at about 18:20.

You have to wonder from his description if he's actually ever met Governor Palin. I have, before she went national and she's about as far from the ignorant bumpkin she was portrayed as by the dinosaur media as you can imagine.

It's nakedly obvious that despite his disclaimer, Jeb is at least thinking about a run in 2012. Fine, but as far as I'm concerned, I don't ever want to see another faux-conservative named Bush anywhere near the White House.

And I think there are a lot of people that feel exactly the same way.

That's funny!! Jeb Bush is a wealthy plutocrat. Sarah Palin and her family are not. As a plutocrat, one NEVER has to live in the real world. As such, they can NEVER understand what real Americans face. The best they can do is acknowledge the fact that they CANNOT understand the challenges and tribulations faced by average Americans and try their VERY BEST to surround themselves with people who do understand what average Americans face.

Mrs. Palin does not come from a plutocrat back ground. As such, she would be far more likely to have the depth of understanding necessary to face real world issues than someone like Jeb Bush who has never had to face them.

Btw, Jeb Bush has even less chance to get the GOP nomination than Sarah Palin does. As unpopular as former President Bush is, the name "Bush" alone would be enough to sink his candidacy before it even gets started. As such, I don't think the GOP would let him run on their ticket and it seems unlikely he would get any donors to his campaign.

He must be angry that his incompetent older brother ruined his political career and needs to take it out on someone and Sarah Palin is an easy target. It costs virtually nothing to attack her and it scores points with the media and political elites in both major political parties. Who knows maybe if the elder Bush joins in and does the same thing he may be able to avoid jail time. After all if the economy gets worse the Democrats will probably move forward with prosecution of George W. Bush and key members of his team. Given his and Mr. Cheney's unpopularity with the average voter, a prosecution and conviction of them would probably be quite easy and it would have the added bonus of distracting the voting public for a little while.

As for solutions to real problems, I suggest the following: 1.)withdraw ALL troops and personel from ALL Middle Eastern countries and bring them home. This includes Iraq and Afghanitan. The withdrawl should begin IMMEDIATELY and it should be completed as quickly as our transport vehicles can safely get them out. 2.)Disband NATO and bring all those forces home. If the EU wants to carry on with NATO it will be on their own dime and without American assistance. This includes a withdrawl from all former Soviet bloc countries. It's stupid to run the risk of fruitless war with Russia over these countries. The American military is in no condition to fight a war with Russia and the country is in no condition financially to be capable of winning such a war. 3.)Withdraw all forces from South Korea, Japan, and areas near China. Same as number 2. It is stupid to run the risks of unwinnable conflicts. 4.)All those troops should be immediately redeployed to the American borders. I would expect both morale and enlistments to go up, as defending America is what these brave men and women signed up to do. 5.)Develop ALL of our own oil and gas reserves and build more refineries. This would give us more leverage in negotiations with OPEC and others. Also, it would create a large number of high paying union jobs.

If all of these things are done, this will give us far greater utility for our national security interests than any thing we are currently doing.

The fact that NEITHER Jeb Bush or Sarah Palin are suggesting this indicates that NEITHER of them have the "depth of understanding" necessary to deal with America's problems. In fact, no major figure in either major party is suggesting this. This indicates that NEITHER major political party gets it.

andrew jackson said, In public controversies, the side that is always giving you reasons why something can’t be done, and is endlessly telling you that the popular view isn’t sufficiently "sophisticated" or "nuanced"—that is the side that doesn’t want you to know what it is doing, and it is not to be trusted.
if andrew jackson were around today, i bet he'd say jeb is a dumm mass.
