The Latest On The Primaries

The votes are coming in from the East and it doesn't look like a good night for incumbents, Democrats or establishment politicos.

In Kentucky, Palin choice and Tea Party favorite Rand Paul soundly trounced the GOP establishment's pick Trey Grayson for the GOP nomination and likely, the Senate seat:

"I have a message, a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: We have come to take our government back," Paul told supporters after sealing his triumph over Secretary of State Trey Grayson.

In Pennsylvania, it's going to be a long night. Specter is slightly ahead of Sestak in the Donkey primary, and I'm actually hoping it stays that way and Sphincter wins by a tenth of a percent or so, so Pat Toomey can knock his brains out in the general.

In the race for Murtha's old seat, PA-12 with 11% of precincts now reporting — Critz(D) 58%, Burns 39%(R). This one could come down to a few hundred votes.

Polls just closed a while ago in Arkansas, so no meaningful results yet in the Democratic primary race between uberprogressive Lt. Gov. Bill Halter and Senator Blanche Lincoln yet. In one bit of unintended comedy Senator Linoln was turned away from her own poling place and had to use a provisional ballot.

More as it comes in.
