Iran-Pakistan Pipeline Deal Signed - Gas For Missile Technology?

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi essentially defied US Special Envoy Richard Holbrooke and vowed that Pakistan plans to continue with a gas pipeline deal signed with Iran June 13th in spite of what were termed direct warnings form Holbrooke.

"The gas pipeline project with Iran is in Pakistan's interests, " the Pakistani Foreign Minister told a news conference in the city of Multan in Punjab.

Qureshi said that as far as Pakistan is concerned, the recent UN sanctions on Iran don't affect the gas pipeline project since it is a bilateral agreement between the two countries (!) and both countries have already finalized the deal.

The pipeline was initially supposed to carry gas from Iran to Pakistan and then to India, but India withdrew from the deal last year as part of its nuclear deal with the United States.

So Iran and Pakistan are continuing with the pipeline project.

Just another boring commercial transaction...between an oil and natural gas producing Islamic state working very diligently on acquiring nuclear weapons and missile technology and another basket case, stony broke Islamic state with nothing much to sell except nuclear weapons and missile technology.

Nothing to see here, move along....

please donate...it helps me write more gooder!
